Due to our small size, cancellations affect us significantly.
For cancellations or changes to a reservation, a refund, less a cancellation fee of 10% of the deposit amount, will be made up to two weeks prior to arrival. Thereafter, refunds will be made only if the room is re-rented. Cancellations within 48 hours of arrival will result in a forfeiture of deposit, no exceptions, however, guests are welcome to transfer their reservation to a friend or family member at no penalty.
For large reservations (5 rooms or more) a refund, less a $100 fee per cancelled room, applies up to 30 days prior to arrival. Thereafter, you will be charged for any unrented rooms.
For The Bend House and The Beaver Falls House, a refund, less a $200 cancellation fee, will be made up to 30 days prior to arrival. Thereafter, deposits will be non-refundable.
Check-in is 3:00 p.m. and after and check-out by 11:00 a.m.
Meals are casual and served in a modified buffet-style. Breakfast is at 9:00am and dinner at 7:45pm. We serve bar snacks during social hour starting at 6:30 in Buck’s Bar. Our meal times are not flexible, but guests are welcome to bring snacks and store them in the kitchenette if they’d like.
A picnic lunch can be ordered after breakfast and will be ready for pick-up after 11:00 a.m. A picnic lunch consists of a deli-style sandwich, fruit, cookie, and a bottled water at a cost of $15.

Yes, if you have dietary restrictions please let us know in advance of your arrival and we will do our best to accommodate.
The dress style is comfortable/casual.
With the exception of picnic lunches, all meals are served in the Lewis Mill Restaurant.
Meals are for overnight guests staying in our full-service accommodations only.
For the enjoyment of our guests, we’ve created an environment where you do not need to reach for your wallet during your stay. Breakfast and dinner are included in your room rate and additional services like lunches, bar drinks, and activities are added to your final bill. In order to ensure a basic gratuity for our hardworking team, we charge a $20/room/night service charge in lieu standard tipping. Should you wish, additional gratuity is always welcome and will be split amongst all the team members that contributed to your stay.

Virginia sales tax is 5.3%. The local meals and lodging tax is an additional 4% of our total rate.
Beer and wine are available at social hour from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. at Buck’s Bar and throughout dinner.
Yes, all lodging accommodations are air-conditioned.
Guests who have Verizon and AT&T will get cell phone service in the main Lodge areas. We offer free WIFI. We recently got new fiber, so service will work great for checking email, making phone calls, messaging, and surfing the web. Due to our location, streaming content and video calls may not work well.
No, but satellite television is available in the Mill game room, Buck’s Bar, and the living room at Riverside House. The Tall Timbers, John Lewis Cabins, Charles Lewis Cottage, and Andrew Lewis Cottage each have their own television.

Yes, all that’s required is a resident or non-resident freshwater license to fish and you can purchase online (www.dgif.virginia.gov/licenses) or over the phone at 1-866-721-6911. If you are planning to fish the Bullpasture River, Jackson River, or Spring Run below Coursey Springs Fish Hatchery in designated State stocked trout areas from Oct. 1 – June 15 you will need a trout-fishing license in addition to the freshwater license.
